3 Day Summer Guitar Course
Making music is the true road to mastery
If you are looking for a fun and engaging guitar course, look no further.​ Join us for a 3 day guitar course in January 2023. The perfect way to spend the new year improving your playing skills, whilst having a great time with fellow musicians. We will practice 3 songs over the course of 3 days, by playing them together.
Each song will have multiple parts so you can focus on playing the parts you wish to improve on. Musical styles will include Rock, Blues and Folk. We will practice songs we know and love, I'll throw in a wild card and ultimately we will create a new song together. The best part is that there is no need to prepare a thing, just bring some enthusiasm, your guitar & enjoy!

ABOUT THE COURSE
WHY GROUP LESSONS
By playing in a group we can practice multiple parts of a song with different levels of complexity. We learn to play together, communicate music and develop skills at our own level and area of interest.
Group lessons also allow us to inspire each other, share ideas, tips and tricks.
Ultimately, we aim to have a good time.
THE STRUCTURE

We will investigate everyone's musical interests and aspirations.

We will listen and break down songs, understand their key components.

We will practice elements of the song that fit your level of interest.

We will also create a song together with various parts to practice.
WHAT WILL I LEARN
The summer course will help you to:

Develop a musical ear

Learn how to play parts of songs

Explore techniques like strumming, finger-picking and solo-ing

Some practical Music Theory

Keep the beat and get into the groove

Compose a song.

ACOUSTIC OR ELECTRIC
I love both, so I won't discriminate. Many songs use both. Depending on everyone's needs we can do acoustic or electric guitar sessions or combine the two. This will depend on the participants, but we will make it work to our advantage.
WHAT DO I NEED TO START

A guitar, capo, pick, tuner and slide

A guitar stand

A grasp of basic major and minor chords (but don't sweat over it)

Enthusiasm
You do not need books. We will use our ears and creativity. I will make recordings or create live loops to help us practice. The point is to learn and have a good time.
COMMUNITY ACCESS
To support the lessons I have created an online music community for fellow musicians. It will have a summer lesson section to share notes and recordings. By participating in the lessons, you get access to the community page. All you have to do is to create a log-in.
PRICING
3 day summer course:
375 AUD (including GST).
As a summer course participant you'll get the chance to take part in the music and guitar workshop the Friday prior to the course at the reduced alumni/student fee.​ The combined price for the workshop + 3 day summer course is 500 AUD.

CANCELLATIONS, REFUNDS & COVID
You can cancel up to 7 days prior to the start of the course with no strings attached.
Please see below the terms and conditions regarding cancellation and refunds closer to date.
Minimal attendance is 5 participants for the course to go ahead.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
COVID SAFETY
The Course will be held at Baringo Food & Wine's cinema which is a spacious set-up. We will follow the venue's Covid-safe plan should there be any.
COVID CANCELLATION
Should you have Covid-symptoms, please stay home. If mild, make sure you have tested negative to Covid-19. Should you or I have to cancel due to illness, you can either rebook to a later Course or request to get your money back.
OTHER CANCELLATIONS
You can cancel up to 7 days prior to the start of the course and receive a refund, Should I, for whatever reason have to cancel, I will offer alternative dates or you could request a refund when no dates fit your schedule.
SATISFACTION REFUND
I am keen to help you forward, should you, however, not have had a good time and not have learned something useful I am happy to refund you 50% of the total ticket price. You must notify me within 48 hours after the course ends to qualify.
NO REGRETS

SUMMER COURSE LOCATION
The guitar courses take place in Baringo's cosy 30 seat cinema in the beautiful Macedon Ranges. Baringo is within easy reach from Melbourne and located right next to Gisborne train station. The travel time from Melbourne Southern Cross is less than 1 hour by train and 50 minutes by car. If you wish to combine a lunch or dinner with the workshop, check out the menus here. It is recommended to make a reservation for this popular bar & bistro.
UNIQUE AMBIENCE
Small and spacious. The 30 seat cinema with stage is a perfect location for a Guitar Course. Big enough to make a noise, small enough to be connected. The course is limited to 15 participants to have enough space for ourselves and our instruments. Just relax, grab a drink and enjoy the musical journey.
