Making music is the true road to enjoy live music

When COVID hit us, I quickly realised that the only certain way to enjoy live music is to make it yourself. Hence, I created this Masterclass for beginning to intermediate musicians/players to advance their playing and to help prepare themselves to play with others.

As I embarked on a journey towards live performance, I collated key learnings into this Masterclass, brought to you with live music. I will share many tips, tricks and insights via live music intertwined with storytelling & Q&A's.

This 4-hour long Masterclass sits right in between a live performance and a workshop in which we will touch upon finding your sound & capturing it. We discover the power of looping & get creative in song writing. I'll help you to start jamming with yourself to help master your instrument and prepare you for playing with others. I'll perform many of my own songs and show you the creative process of creating them. Ultimately, we will create & record a song together on the fly. No need to prepare, just bring some inspiration & enjoy!

I grew up with my father listening to classical music and mother to rock n roll. I learned to play the piano, but was more fascinated by the guitar. After discovering Jimi Hendrix, I had to play it. Starting out on a Nylon string, practising the chords to Hey Joe, I soon set out to buy a used Fender Stratocaster. I still play it to date, now 30 years later.

Although I played in two bands, we never really got into gigging much, yet my musical journey continued as a red thread through my life. Playing music became like meditation to me, a form of  communication.

Lately, I have become adamant to play live and I have focused my attention to finding the right gear and building skills to compose, play and communicate music. A steady beat, creative song-writing, a good sense of composition, recording and mixing tracks. The process resulted into me having live jamming sessions with myself, in which I practised my instruments and singing in the context of live music, whilst creating songs on the fly that are fit for live performing & recording. Practicing the art of making music. I now wish to share my key learnings with you, in a live setting, to experience real life what does and doesn't seem to work. To hear it, feel it, see it. For the love of live music.
